About the programme

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain knowledge of how we can keep our waterways clean and practice good water habits to ensure water sustainability (Understanding where our water come from and the importance of good/sustainable water management practices)
  • Promote stewardship for keeping our water clean and sustainable (Understanding the importance of clean water for humans and animals)
  • Use of simple tool to create resources (for water-based adventures) at outdoors
  • Develop responsibility, risk-taking and resiliency (patience, inquisitive-thinking, overcoming fears)

Learning Focus:

  • Outdoor Learning – Importance of Water and its movement
  • Outdoor Adventure – Water Safety

Singapore is blessed with clean running water here, but we are considered one of the world’s most water-stressed countries. Hence everyone needs to cultivate responsible water use from young.

In this programme, our children get adventuring as young scientists out in the neighbourhood! Learn about our water systems by investigating our water canals and streams, locating the drains below us and discovering through exploration and experiments. Our water trekkers will also get to make simple tools to participate in water activities at different catchment areas to discover the interrelationships between water, wildlife, and other living things on earth.

What Our Parents Have To Say

My child enjoyed climbing the tree and splashing in mud for the first time. It's a good experience especially if parents are too busy to take their children into the forest themselves :)

Azizah

A whole new experience for my child! At home, she shared on different types of plants & animals with personal and hands on experience. The facilitators had done well in instilling self responsibility to the children. Muhaya had been asking to have more trekking in the future and looking forward to the next exciting and adventurous holiday program by outdoor singapore school!
